The Speardiver composite spearfishing reels feature a robust and lightweight construction. Reel comes with a mounting bracket specific to Speardiver rail guns, and a choice of one additional generic mounting bracket for either round bottom railbuns (round profile) or flat bottom wood guns (flat profile). Mounting brackets fasten with two included stainless steel screws and are also sold separately.

One of the main advantages of the Speardiver composite reel is the strength of the reel axle attachment point. With other composite reels the metal axle is anchored directly in the reel base where the material is barely 1/4" thick. This is often a point of failure, when a lot of stress is applied suddenly such as when a reel is jammed or the drag is left locked, and a strong fish makes a run, the axle and spool may tear out of the reel base. By contrast speardiver reels have a more robust axel formed by the stainless steel spindle encased in composite material which extends from the reel base, without sacrificing line capacity.

Reels are available spooled with high visibility orange or yellow Dyneema reel line.
