The fin mounting kit is used to secure blades inside the footpockets. The screws prevent the blade from moving forward out of the footpocket. Tightening the screws hard does not add to the holding power of the footpocket over the blade, this is the job of the tendon rails. Over tightening of the screws may lead to a crack devloping in a fiber blade.
