This mounting kit is used to secure blades inside the footpockets. The screws stop the movement of the blade out of the footpocket. The screws do not need to be tightened very hard. Over tightening of the screws may lead to cracking of a fiber blade. Tightening the screws hard does not add to the holding power of the footpocket over the blade, this is the job of the tendon rails. The same effect can be achieved with a zip tie instead of the mounting kit.
